The novel follows the story of Buck, a mixed-breed dog who lives a comfortable life in California before being kidnapped and sold to work in the gold rush areas of Alaska. Over time, Buck is forced to adapt to the harsh wilderness, facing great challenges to survive in the snow and cold. The story tracks Buck’s journey from a domesticated dog to a wild creature, where he eventually discovers his true strength and answers the call of the wild to which he belongs.
